Sermons by Jared Smith
The first of a four part mini-series called “Be ready.” In this video we will be reviewing the signs of the end and of Jesus’ return (Matthew 24).
“You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:6-8
“…And they glorified the God of Israel.” Matthew 15:31
“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” Joshua 1:8
The influence of Barnabas in the experience of the Apostle Paul and his acceptance into the community of believers is an important study into the value of encouragement. Maybe the making of a hero is just as important as being one.
Pr Jared Smith shares how the book of Ecclesiastes reveals the pursuit of purpose.
Having now unpacked 6 glorious truths about the gospel we will look at our responsibility to share this with the world. As we unpack Romans 10 we will be challenged by Paul’s questions: “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As…
In this sermon we will be unpacking the glorious climax of the book of Romans – 8:26-31. In this sermon we will be encouraged that the Spirit, the Son and the Father are all on our side and are working for our salvation. “He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?” Romans 8:32.
This sermon examines the topic of glorification by unpacking Romans 8:1-30. Even though God’s victory over sin has been won, we still live with the awful reality of sin’s presence. This sermon calls us to persevere as we look forward to a world made new and the end of the horrors of sin.
This sermon will unpack Romans 7 and will look at the battle with sin that continues to wage in the life of every believer. However, in the midst of the battle, we can be reassured that “there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1).
If we have been saved by grace through faith, why does it matter how we live? This sermon will unpack Romans 6 and will show that true obedience is an act of worship. Paul instructs us to first believe that God has declared us righteous and secondly to offer our lives to God as an act of worship.
Even though it is faith that gives us access to God’s justification, faith isn’t the active agent of salvation. It is God’s grace that saves us. This sermon will unpack Romans 5 and will look at the grace of Jesus who loved us enough to die for us, even when we were his weak, ungodly, sinful enemies.
